Pleurotus erygii (King Trumpet)

Pleurotus erygii, known also as the King Trumpet mushroom or King Oyster mushroom has been extensively used in Asia, Europe, and North America 1. P. eryngii var. ferulae, the ferulae mushroom, grows in central China on the plant Ferula assa-foetida 2. Naturally active components that have been discovered and purified from Pleurotus eryngii include polysaccharides, ubiquinone-9, eryngiolide A, triterpene (naturally occurring compounds), diterpenoids, etc. 1Pleurotus eryngii and their extracts in general is well tolerated with little (if any) side effects 1.
