Squalene is an unsaturated branched chain isoprenoid hydrocarbon that can be obtained from numerous plants sources, including olives, vegetable oils, amaranth seed, rice bran and wheat germ. It is widely used in cosmetics as a skin conditioning agent/emollient 1.
